- What is a Telegram AI bot?
- A Telegram AI bot is a bot that answers with a language model instead of scripted button menus. A classic Telegram bot can only follow the exact flows someone programmed into it. An AI bot built with Chatloom reads your website, documents, and FAQ entries, then answers free-form questions from that knowledge, in the user's own language, in private chats and in groups.
- How do I create a Telegram bot?
- The quickest way: in Chatloom open Channels, Telegram and press Create my bot. Telegram opens its own creation window with the name and @username filled in; confirm, and the bot is created under your Telegram account and connected. You can also do it by hand: message @BotFather, send /newbot, then paste the token it gives you into Chatloom's channel settings.
- Can I add AI to a Telegram bot I already have?
- Yes. Any bot created with BotFather works: paste its existing token into Chatloom and we register the webhook, so the AI starts answering immediately. One thing to know: Telegram delivers each bot's messages to a single webhook, so if that token was wired to another tool, Chatloom takes over the answering from it.
- How long does it take to set up a Telegram AI bot?
- Minutes, not days. Creating the bot in BotFather takes about a minute, connecting the token to Chatloom takes seconds, and then you point the AI at your website or documents. Indexing starts right away; a typical small site is ready to answer questions within a few minutes. There is no server to host and nothing to code.
- Can the bot work in Telegram groups?
- Yes. Add your Chatloom-powered bot to any Telegram group and it answers whenever a member @mentions it. Mention-only is deliberate: a bot that replied to every message in a busy group would burn through your quota and annoy the room.
- Is Telegram bot creation free?
- Creating a Telegram bot via BotFather is completely free — Telegram doesn't charge for the Bot API. You only pay for your Chatloom subscription, which includes the AI processing, knowledge base, and analytics.
- Can the bot send images and files?
- It receives them: photos are read by the AI, voice messages are transcribed and answered, and documents are attached to the conversation for your team. On the way out, rich media means product cards with images and buttons — the bot does not send arbitrary files today.

Customers who write to you personally then get an answer in seconds, from your account. When you reply yourself, the AI steps back for that customer, and the first answer in each chat says it was written by an AI.
